Transmitted from the Belly of the Polar Vortex

Kudos to you if at any point since May you've been on this page. Because we certainly haven't.

Our band relocated to Chicago, one of us in the dead of this eternal winter. It was Ben, kudos to Ben.

We have new music, a new practice space, a new lease on life and on that practice space.

We've got a show booked in March that we're really jazzed about, more details on that come very shortly. Otherwise, thanks for still being with us.

Thus the frigid tundra's eventual thaw is mirrored in our own.

If you didn't catch it, we released an EP last summer. You can hear the whole thing on our bandcamp, along with everything else we've put out.

Onward!

New 7" EP, Selling Merch for Mad Cheap and Deceivers' Big Move

Hey, there. We released a new EP yesterday. It's in the form of a completely hand-made run of only fifty 7", a move as rewarding as it was overwhelming. We had a local record shop hand-cut the vinyl on an imported lathe, for those of us who don't tend to nerd out on vinyl so much this is a pretty cool thing because instead of a machine doing the work, a person sits and molds each individual copy, ensuring quality and classiness. We also hand painted and screened jackets and inserts to the best of our ability. If you order one i'm sure you'll be amazed with how much we did considering our limited artistic ability.

The EP is actually four songs even though the vinyl only features an A-side and a B-side--ah, the restrictions of the 7". If you decide to purchase a copy of the vinyl through our bandcamp page you'll receive a download code which will include all four of the songs in whichever format you prefer. The songs may also be purchased individually through this same avenue.

Thanks to all of our Orlando friends and family that were able to come see us release the EP live last night at Will's Pub. We were honored to share the stage with the likes of TTNG and Tera Melos. It was the last show we'll be playing in our home town until next year, as our band is relocating to the mid west over the next couple of months. There are different, curious, enticing and menacing things awaiting all of us--we won't be out of commission for too long. With that in mind, we are trying to sell as much of our current merchandise as possible for rock bottom prices. For real, you should email or facebook message us to make an offer. Want both of our CDs, both of our vinyl and a shirt for only $20? We can make that happen.

Endless appreciation for your support and we promise more music, touring and keeping on in just a short little while.

Feast Your Eyes AND Your Ears...

We're uber-excited to be posting our first-ever music video. Beautifully shot by Brian Macaione and directed by Charles Sutter at an undisclosed Orlando locale, the video captures four confused looking dudes messing with a lot of potentially dangerous equipment they obviously don't know how to properly operate. In retrospect maybe we should have included a disclaimer...

Great Deceivers "Silver Thumbs" from Brian Macaione on Vimeo.

Please feel free to like the video, tell your friends about it and embed it everywhere you can! We worked hard to produce it and want to bring it to as many eyes as possible.

We returned a couple of days ago from our mini-tour of Florida with our friends Basements of Florida. We did a lot of karaoke, saw a lot of old friends, crashed a Motel 6 and played to great folks. Couldn't ask for anything more. In the midst of all the fun that was had, we still managed to capture a bunch of photos. We pared the selection down to the best of the best, the most memorably-ridiculous, the premier pickings. They're all conveniently located in a photo album via our Facebook page OR  you can witness the bunch in all of their glory on our Tumblr (if ya don't follow us, ya should!).

We're also very excited to announce that today, for the first time, our recent full-length release, Seasons In Reverse, has been made 100% stream-able. That's right. The whole record is now listen-able for free via our Bandcamp. We encourage you to take this opportunity to check out some tracks you may not have heard yet, you never know when you'll find a new favorite.

Thanks for reading up, more exciting news to come very soon. As always, sign up for our mailing list if you want the most up-to-date headlines.

Home Is Where the Heat Is

Well, when all was said and done The Pauses and ourselves (and don't forget Charles Vanson!) made it back to Orlando in one piece. We had a superb time rolling deep to NYC with our buddies and got to see and meet a lot of really great people.

If you haven't yet made it over to our Tumblr tour-blog we have pages upon pages of photos and blurbs from our travels including shots of the Wall Street Occupation and other general insanity.

We came, we saw, we played, we were cold, we ate pizza.

Thank you always,

-M.

PS- A Florida mini-tour is in the works for January. Shaping up to look something like: Gainesville, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ft. Myers, and West Palm. But who knows, Tampa, St. Pete, Sarasota or Miami could always be thrown into the mix. Please share our page with your friends and help us reach fresh ears!
